ArtCast™ is used by mixing with water, similar to plaster but is much stronger when cured.
It is included in our BODY PARTS™ kits (ChildCast™, LifeCast™ and StudioPack™) as the final casting medium because of its relative simplicity, durability and accuracy in duplicating fine details. It hardens a pure white and is compatible with both the ArtForm™ and Earthium(f/x)™.
This material should never be allowed to harden in direct contact with the skin. It is not for use by unsupervised children.

This material is also trade named HYDROCAL® White Gypsum Cement. We repackage and supply it in 15 pound boxes as a convenience to customers with small needs.
It is far more economical to buy it from a USG distributor near you in either 50 or 100 lbs. sacks.

- ArtCast™ is a good general use product that offers gradual setting time and a long period of plasticity. Recommended for solid and hollow castings which require high green strength to minimize breakage during removal from intricate molds.

- We have tested a variety of plasters and gypsum cements and found that this product provides the most consistent quality for the price. However, USG and others make a wide variety of such materials each engineered for a range of applications and budgets.

In addition to its other characteristics, ArtCast™ will accept a variety of fillers, additives, retarders and accelerators to modify its behavior. More important to us is its ability to accept finishes and or color added directly into it while maintaining its final durability within acceptable tolerances.
