- How To Measure & Mix With A BlendBag:
|
- ArtFORM: After filling the matrix with enough water to cover the body parts, follow these steps
- 1. Pour the water into a BlendBag. Hold as shown to measure the water volume.
- 2. Add the amount of ArtFORM you need, based on the speed and thickness wanted (see Ratio Table below).
- 3. Pinch shut. Rotate the bag to moisten the powder.
- 4. Set upright, 'burp' the air from the bag. Slide your hands upward from the fluid, squeezing out the air to create a partial vacuum.
- Hold 1-2 inches from top to give yourself working room. There should not be a "balloon" effect that prevents quick, vigorous mashing & scrubbing.
- 5. Lay the BlendBag on its side. Mash the lumps out with the flat of your hand in a scrubbing motion. Continue for the time allowed by your ratio and water temperature.
- 6. Pour or squeeze into the matrix and immerse the object.
- TO REUSE: When ArtFORM has set, turn bag inside-out, rinse and allow to dry.
- ArtCAST proceedures are similar: If you have not used the displacement method above, first fill your mold gently with water then:
- 1. Immediately pour it into a BlendBag. Read the water volume from the lines as before. This is the approximate amount of powder you will need.
- 2. Multiply by percent your ratio requires, ie; a 1:2 ratio is 50% (see ratios below). Remove the excess water.
- 3. Measure powder needed for your ratio. Sift it into the water. Allow to soak without mixing.
- 4. Repeat the 'burping and blending explained in steps 4 and 5 immediately above.
- 5. Gently pour the fluid into the mold. Refer to Gravity Casting"(Section 2B below) for specifics on how to do this.
- TO REUSE: Before cement hardens, rinse out any remaining cement. Turn inside out and allow to dry.

Using A BlendBag As A Matrix Liner:
|
- There may be occassions when the lifecasting design you intend to sculpt requires a matrix which would be difficult or impossible to make water proof, cardboard boxes for example. In those cases a BlendBag is very convenient for use as a quick liner to contain the liquids while still conforming to the shape you want.
- , Also, when used with the above measuring techniques the entire materials estimating process becomes a very easy process from beginning to end!
