How does it work?
Brief: Life casting is a 2-step process in its simplest form. First a negative impression (mold) is taken directly from the body. This mold is then filled with a casting medium, such as high strength ArtCast™ to create the positive as illustrated at the right.
ChildCast™ Kit Instructions
The Basic BODY PARTS™ Steps:
Step 1:
Mix the pre measured ArtForm™ powder & cool, clean water in our unique BlendBag™ for 2 minutes.
Step 2:
Empty the smooth, creamy mixture into the clear packaging and dunk in some body parts. Wait for 3-4 minutes until it sets.
Step 3:

What is the difference between ArtForm™ and Earthium (f/x)™?
ArtForm™ is a single, self-setting powder designed for excellent results in basic lifecast work, especially the "dip & dunk" variety when castings are to be poured in cementicious (plaster-like) media or waxes.
• Earthium™ is formulated in two parts for much greater artistic control in larger, more complex or precision lifecasting applications. It can be made to solidify as quickly as 30 seconds or as slowly as 1 hour, is more durable and will accept a wider variety of casting media.
• Both are nontoxic and activated with water.

What is PolyArt™ LifeCast™ silicone?
This is a very pure, Health Care grade plastic medium for creating realistic feeling artifacts, adult novelties, special effects (f/x) and prosthetic or costume devices. It may be used for both castings and molds. Flesh tone coloring tints are added to complete the effect. Best used with the Earthium(f/x)™ Advanced medium.

How is LifeCast™ different from life cast or lifecast?
The phrase "life cast" or the word "lifecast" is the generic term used in the fine arts and special effects (f/x) community for this type of artifact/technique since ancient times. It comes from the Old Nordic ancestor of the English language. See A Brief History of Lifecasting for a more complete definition, history and etymology.
• The trademark LifeCast™ refers to the graphic representation as a single word with its root components capitalized. As such it has been used on our packaging, promotional, business and copyrighted documents since 1987. This is similar to how the characters "3" and "M" are protected if they appear a certain way as 3M® (touching), trademark for the Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing company.
