Chapter 1: Common Sense & Art Materials
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

ArtCast™ Statuary Cement:
This pure white casting cement is also non toxic and biodegradable and also quite safe when used as directed. It is primarily calcium, one of the elementary components of most biological organisms. Indeed, that's where it comes from – the remains of eons of life on planet Earth! It also contains small amounts of Portland cement and other chemicals. Refer to the MSDS.
Cements harden by a chemical process called hydration – not by drying out but by getting wet. This reaction generates large amounts of heat as a by product and if allowed to harden in contact with the skin can cause significant burns.
Never apply the ArtCast™ directly to the skin or submerge your skin into it! It will trap and burn you!
Since the ArtCast™ is also hygroscopic (absorbs water) and cementitious (cement like), accidental swallowing could be very serious. Not only would it take moisture from your body but, it would also harden inside. Never under any circumstances put the ArtCast™ cement, wet or dry into your mouth or other orifice of the body.
For these same reasons you should dispose of these materials in the trash. ArtForm™ and Earthium(f/x)™ can even go into the compost. Do not pour any of these materials in your drains or toilet.
