Freeform Earthium(f/x)™ Examples:

In this case I had the model wearing a swim cap since I wanted to actually carve the hair in a more intricate design than can be LifeCast™.The Earthium™ was spread on her face then backed with a mother mold (see Alternative & Advanced Techniques). Her eyes were closed but carving them open later was easy. After doing an initial cast from this first mold, I added in the hair on that casting and carved the eyes open. Then I made another mold of that object with more Earthium™. This piece came from the second mold.
Cust life cast face 3For the casting I mixed several different batches of cement, each with a different powdered pigment. When hardened & dried I soaked it in Thompson's water seal for masonry, polished it with carnuba wax and mounted it to the base. I was even able to make one more casting from the same mold and finish it differently.
Cust life cast nude2This amusing LifeCast™ reminds me of the furniture in the milk bar from Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange".A 'cheeky' bit of modern kitsch from some guys in New York. It was done by the tank method (see Erotica in Alt.& Adv. Tech.)

This example of advanced Lifecasting™ was done of the young woman who won a local bikini contest down in Florida during - what else - Spring Break. It was done by some artists, know collectively as Sculptique, that run the 'revelry circuit' during that notorious time of year. They capture the all-to-transient youth of those who win the myriad wet T and bathing suit competitions. From our conversations (we supply the bulk materials and help) I gather they make a big show of the process, positioning the model in a large tank and surrounding her with liquid Earthium™ (see Torso Tanks in Erotica in Alternative & Advanced Techniques).
Cust life cast nude 5Before discovering our LifeCast™ products they had absolutely no background in art, let alone sculpture and yet look what they can do now. Great job people!Earthium™(f/x) makes this possible by giving the artist total control over work and set times - from 30 seconds to an hour!
